Diesel option for motor testers ver. 5.3 and 6.1

Description and application

It is known that diesel engines do not use ignition sparking-plugs. For this reason the measurement of the revolutions of the engine and the syncronization can not be made by the usual way, using the sparking-plug cable of the first cylinder. For this purpose a piesoelectric sensor is used, which is connected over the pipe of the nozzle of the first cylinder of the diesel engine.

It is then connected to C1 port of the DIS ignition system and in the moment of activation of the diesel stroboscope, on the screen of the oscilloscope the vibrations of the pipe can be seen. At this state the oscilloscope locates the swelling of the pipe and the input signal is syncronized.

The pipe is swelled once in every two revolutions. In that manner it becomes possible to measure the revolutions of the engine and the stroboscope starts to blink in syncrone with it.

It is also possible to observe the processes of the pipe swelling - how the nozzle is working and also there is an active stroboscope for diesel engines.

The set is offered with a standard piezoelectric sensor with a syze of 6 mm. When there is an enquiry from the client there is a delivery ability for sensors with syzes of 4.5, 5, 7 and 8 mm.
